Chaos erupts as US forces seize Russian tanker Aquila II in Indian Ocean raid, Moscow vows to sink pirates
The Aquila II is linked to Sunne Co Limited, a company already under United States sanctions due to the transportation of Russian oil

The planet and global shipping are being driven onto a trajectory of unprecedented derailment by the arbitrary actions of the United States, which today 9/2 carried out a raid and seized yet another Russian tanker, this time in the Indian Ocean.
Specifically, the United States Department of War announced the seizure of the Panama flagged tanker Aquila II in the Indian Ocean, while it was en route from Venezuela.
In fact, United States Navy frigates pursued the vessel from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean.

As is customary, a boarding operation was carried out on the tanker, which was subsequently declared under seizure for violation of United States sanctions.
The United States is expected to escort the Aquila II to United States territory in order to extract the “sanctioned” oil of Venezuela and transfer it to its refineries.
Western media directly describe the Aquila II as part of the Russian “shadow fleet” linked to Sunne Co Limited, a company already under the United States sanctions regime for its activity in the Russian energy sector.

Provocation from the Pentagon: We impose our will in every corner of the planet

Subsequently, the Pentagon published a video on social media depicting the seizure of the tanker.
The post is accompanied by a provocatively arrogant statement, which claims that the Aquila II was seized because it violated Trump shipping regulations in the Caribbean.
More specifically, the Pentagon claimed that: “No other nation on planet Earth has the power to impose its will in any sphere. Whether on land, in the air, or at sea, our Armed Forces will find you and deliver justice. You will run out of fuel long before you manage to escape us.”
It is worth noting that maritime piracy, which until recently was practiced exclusively off the coast of Somalia, has moved to a radically new level: ship hijackings are now being carried out by the armed forces of NATO countries, while the United States does not hesitate to proceed with blatant looting of cargoes from oil tankers that have been declared “under the sanctions regime”.

The warning of the Russian Duma against the so called international pirates

At an earlier time, Russia has issued harsh warnings against the actions of both the United States and France, which have targeted ships of the Russian fleet.
Months ago, Alexey Zhuaravlyev spoke with unprecedented ferocity, commenting on the seizure of the Bella 1 by the United States authorities at the time in the Caribbean.
He proposed a specific form of retaliation, calling on Russia to attack United States ships that participated in the operation: “We must respond militarily: attack with torpedoes and sink some United States ships.”

This statement causes concern, as it indicates a serious escalation of tensions, which would have catastrophic consequences for international peace and security.
Zhuaravlyev’s proposal for torpedo attacks has been perceived as an attempt to deliver a “slap in the face” (a Russian expression meaning a harsh reprimand or punishment) to the United States, with the aim of halting the United States “euphoria of impunity”, which according to him is evident after the events in Venezuela.

A game without rules

The well known military analyst Alexander Kots for his part spoke of a “game without rules” and called on the Russian leadership to respond as quickly as possible.
He called for instructions to be issued for the security of ships to military units, arming them with man portable anti aircraft missile systems and machine guns.
“In this case, landing on the deck would pose a serious risk for the attacker.
A skilled marksman, theoretically, would not find it difficult to hit such a static target as a helicopter before it disembarks the attackers,” Kots noted characteristically.

The seizure of the Bella 1 opened the door to American piracy in global waters

This is not the first incident of blatant piracy against Russian commercial vessels by the United States fleet.
It is noted that on 7/1 United States military personnel boarded the Russian vessel Bella 1 while it was located between Iceland and the British Isles, a few hours before the arrival of Russian warships and submarines in the area.
The boarding by United States special forces was confirmed by the command of the United States European Command (USEUCOM).
In the announcement of the United States Department of Defense, it is stated that the tanker was seized due to violation of United States sanctions, following a warrant issued by a United States federal court, with the support of the vessel USCGC Munro.

“The vessel M/V Bella 1 was seized for violation of United States sanctions pursuant to a warrant issued by a United States federal court, after being monitored by the United States vessel USCGC Munro,” the announcement states.
According to Reuters, the operation was executed by the United States Coast Guard and its armed forces.
United States and British forces used a combined air power for the success of the operation, reports Military Informer.
Specifically, support for the operation was provided by the aerial tanker KC 135T Stratotanker, the patrol aircraft P 8A Poseidon of the United States Air Force, and the British Poseidon MRA1.
Also, several United States special aircraft participated in the area, such as the Pilatus U 28A Draco, which is used to support special operations and monitor strategic targets.
