Absurd spectacle: Trump lifts sanctions on Russia but says they will return, Salvini urges Europe to follow the U.S. example
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Italian government Matteo Salvini called on the European Union (EU) to follow the example of the United States and ease oil sanctions against Russia.

In the end, without Russia the world cannot function.
Let us remain calm.
The Russians are Orthodox Christians like us Greeks, they are the strongest nuclear power in the world, they have the largest land area in the world, they possess the most nuclear weapons and they possess incredibly cheap oil and natural gas in enormous quantities, and now they are on the right side of history.
Especially oil is at the center because of the foolish war of the United States and Israel against Iran.
The Strait of Hormuz closed, sending oil prices to 103 dollars per barrel. No economy in the world that does not possess oil can withstand such prices.
Therefore oil truly is black gold, literally.
We write all this because Trump, the American President, found an excuse to lift sanctions on Russian oil but stressed that he will reinstate the sanctions. Obviously this is an absurd spectacle since the lifting, even temporarily, opens the path to their complete abolition.
Russia has won everywhere, it is remarkable, exceptional and unique.

Trump: I lift sanctions but I will restore them

The President of the United States, Trump, announced that he will reinstate sanctions against Russia related to oil. He clarified that he will do so only when energy prices stabilize, which had increased due to the American attacks on Iran.
“Once the crisis ends, the sanctions will return,” stressed President Trump.
According to the American President, the easing of sanctions is connected with the fact that he wants affordable oil for the world.

The United States will purchase Russian oil until 11 April 2026

The United States has approved the purchase of Russian crude oil and derivatives loaded onto ships starting from 12 March.
The license, issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury Department, allows only the transactions and activities explicitly mentioned in the document.
Any other actions are prohibited, including those related to Iran, its government, or goods and services from that country. As stated in the general license, transactions with Russian ships are permitted “until 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time on 11 April 2026.”

They want supply and increased reserves

According to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, the U.S. government decided to ease sanctions on Russian oil in order to expand supply and increase the global reach of existing reserves.
To increase the global reach of existing supplies, the U.S. Treasury Department is providing a temporary exemption that allows countries to purchase Russian oil that is currently stranded at sea.
The United States emphasized that all this is only a short term measure and will not bring Russia significant economic benefits.

Sanctions will return

The senator from Kansas, Roger Marshall, stated in turn that the United States could reinstate sanctions against Russia just as quickly as it lifted them.
He noted that the global energy situation, amid the war with Iran, is “very sensitive.”

Zelensky against: You handed 10 billion dollars to the Russians

The President of Ukraine, Zelensky, believes that Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian oil does not help peace and will bring billions of dollars to Russia.
He added that he is concerned about this decision.
The easing of U.S. sanctions on Russian oil could provide Russia with about 10 billion dollars. (.)
“This certainly does not help the world,” stressed Zelensky.

Matteo Salvini in favor, John Bolton against

John Bolton, former national security adviser to the U.S. President Trump, was also dissatisfied with Trump’s decision.
He believed it was a “big gift to the Kremlin,” and that Trump should not have done it.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Italian government Matteo Salvini called on the European Union (EU) to follow the example of the United States and ease oil sanctions against Russia.
He said that this is a realistic option.
