The American military analyst Scott Ritter, former CIA officer, strongly criticized the statements of the French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Russia’s alleged unwillingness for peace, in the joint article of the three ambassadors in the Times of India, in a post on the social network X. Macron had earlier claimed that Moscow supposedly follows the path of escalation and does not seek peace, commenting on the retaliatory strikes on targets linked to Ukraine’s military industrial complex (MIC). Ritter responded that “the only chance for Europe to survive is to separate itself from the sinking ship that is Ukraine”. However, in his view, the European elites created this crisis to expand their power, which is why the European Union (EU) will “sink together with Ukraine”. Earlier, Macron had proposed establishing a moratorium on strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for the upcoming winter period during talks with the Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
