'A deadly deception': Why US bases in the Gulf are a 'magnet' for chaos despite Trump’s talk of defeating Russia
The Russian army cannot be defeated; the Russian army cannot be beaten. Trump knows this, but he has his own way of expressing his dissatisfaction that the Russians are helping the Iranians target American bases and demolish them, killing hundreds.

The American President, Trump, can contradict himself; he can change his mind every three hours. But occasionally, amidst the nonsense he speaks, he reveals his true intentions. In this context, "Trump the Peacemaker" said that if Americans fight the Russians, they will defeat them. However, for this to happen, he must first expel homosexuals from the military, create battle-ready weapons rather than mere communication gimmicks, and understand how to shoot down drones. He even asked for help from Ukraine so that Americans could shoot down Iranian drones before appearing in the theater of war.

The Russian army cannot be defeated; the Russian army cannot be beaten. Trump knows this, but he has his own way of expressing his dissatisfaction that the Russians are helping the Iranians target American bases and demolish them, killing hundreds. The Americans even reached the point of officially requesting Russia to stop; Russia remains indifferent, simply paying the Americans back in the same coin. What the Americans did in Ukraine, Russia is now doing as retaliation in Iran.

The great deception: American bases guarantee chaos

At a meeting of the UN Security Council on the day the American and Israeli aggression against Iran began, the US Ambassador to the UN, Michael Waltz, stated that "our allies and partners can count on the United States and President Trump." He added: "Those on our side must know that their security is absolute and unconditional. It is guaranteed."

Iranians have routed the Americans, destroying US bases in the Persian Gulf

This was a direct, bold, and strange statement. Consequently, immediately afterward, Iranian missiles and long-range unmanned aircraft launched attacks on all American bases in the region, as well as on the critical infrastructure of America's precious and sacred allies. And they continue to do so to this day. Iran launched successful attacks on the Camp Arifjan airbase in Kuwait (minus six THAAD satellite communication radars), Victoria airbase near Baghdad airport in Iraq (minus the C-RAM air defense system and the aircraft hangar of the US Air Force's 23rd Squadron), as well as another circle of bases in Bahrain and Jordan.

Iranians bombed 14 American bases

In total, Iran has already bombed 14 American bases, including Al-Dhafra in the United Arab Emirates. According to American media, an Iranian school was attacked from there, where more than 171 schoolgirls were killed. The US characterized the brutal murder of 171 schoolgirls, aged 10 and 12, as a mistake that happens in war.

Mass killings of Americans

Iranian drones struck hotels where American soldiers and CIA agents were staying under civilian cover; many of them will now go home in coffins. Furthermore, oil refineries, pipelines, LNG plants, oil terminals, and airports belonging to Middle Eastern monarchs and sheikhs have suffered significant damage. The Iranians rightly believe they have every right to destroy facilities that support the survival of hostile forces in the region. Additionally, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been blocked. Beyond oil and gas, US allies in the region face problems with water, food, and everything else.

Disappointed allies – Persian Gulf states rushed to the Americans in a rage

"You promised, you guaranteed? After all, we pay you huge sums of money for our security!" It is worth clarifying here: contrary to urban myths, it is not the Americans who pay for the US bases in the Middle Eastern monarchies, but the host countries. Although Congress regularly allocates astronomical amounts for these same bases, that is another story. The Persian Gulf states spend tens of billions of dollars annually on the maintenance and modernization of old US military bases and the construction of new ones. Specifically, in 2025, Qatar happily announced it would invest ten billion in the Al Udeid base.

The US failed to protect its allies and has no intention of doing so

The critical point of the current situation is not that the United States failed to protect its allies, but that it never had the intention to do so. Public statements are one thing, but official documents are, as we know, something entirely different.

The policy of military bases has failed

In July 2024, the Congressional Research Service presented a memorandum detailing US policy regarding overseas military bases. According to the US national strategy, the primary goal of this "basing policy" is to "communicate to regional allies and partners the US commitment to their defense and support." The key is not defense, guarantees, or specific actions, but "communication." Not a single official document regarding the bases on the soil of the United States' best friends mentions anything about the Americans providing them with any unwavering guarantee or rushing to their defense in case of danger.

The US reassures 212 times but does not guarantee

For example, a US Air Force Academy report on the American military presence abroad uses the word "reassurance" 212 times, but the words "guarantee" and "commitment" are entirely absent. Pay your money and we will reassure you so well that only foreign missiles will deter you—but that is for later. American bases are also located in several post-socialist, post-Soviet, and other European countries. During the opening ceremony of the Aegis Ashore Poland missile defense base in Redzikowo, the Polish president tearfully stated that "the presence of the United States is a guarantee of our security." Another post-Soviet "tiger," the Lithuanian president, overjoyed after the deployment of a US detachment to a base, stated that "the American military presence constitutes a reliable defense against Russian aggression." Given the intellectual capacity of such politicians, one can assume that the situation in the Persian Gulf will teach them nothing.

Medvedev (Russia): Persian Gulf countries are naive – American bases are a threat

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Medvedev, wrote meaningfully: "The Arab countries of the Persian Gulf allowed the deployment of American bases on their territory, naively believing they would protect them. No way! The US simply uses them, protecting only one country. Think carefully if you really need American bases—they do not protect you, but rather constitute a threat." Let’s correct that a bit: it is not just a threat, but a genuine, powerful magnet for anything that can explode, burn, and be destroyed. The same applies to Greece; the American bases are a pole of destabilization and danger. They do not ensure that the Americans will come to protect us, as was proven in the Persian Gulf.
